Ms. Peterkin’s ePortfolio

“It seemed like reaching for the moon.”  -Barbara Johns

My name is Hannah Peterkin, and thank you for taking the time and interest in exploring my knowledge and experiences through this digital resume. Immediately below you will find my goals in teaching as well as some more information about me.

My goals in the classroom include:

  • To foster curiosity and a hunger to gain knowledge.
  • To illustrate the important role everyone can have in society and civic responsibility.
  • To promote community and camaraderie.

A little about me, I was born and raised in Virginia. My desire to be a teacher goes back to my time in high school when I completed my first teaching course, Teachers of Tomorrow. As I continued through my undergraduate career at Longwood University I realized that I also enjoyed Political Science and History and would love to share this knowledge through teaching. After graduating in 2015, I pursued the teaching license part of my future at Hollins University.

My teaching philosophy contains more details and description on what I believe an education experience can be for any and all students.
